About the Author
Yvette Farkas
Books that change something, for the child and the grown-up both.
Yvette Farkas is the author behind the award-winning Ethan and the Seven Chakras series, the 500-page cultural archive Toronto Graffiti, and a growing shelf of meaningful works across children's literature, environmental health, and legacy projects. She has published more than twenty titles through Singing Soul Books, the imprint she founded, and co-founded the Booyah Books + Beats children's ecosystem.
Why This Work Matters to Me
A story should do more than inform
I have always believed a book should change something. How a child sees themselves. How a family handles a hard conversation. How a person finally gives shape to work they have carried for years.
Some books comfort. Some preserve a legacy. Some become the foundation of an entirely new future. That is the work I care about. I am moved by helping meaningful ideas become something people can hold, return to, and remember.
The Ethan series carries a personal thread, too. Ethan is a real child in my family, and the warmth behind those stories began with him.
